A Backyard Wedding

Kankakee, Illinois

There’s something magical about a mid-September wedding. The summer heat softens, and the first hints of autumn begin to sneak in. On this particular day, the sun shined the whole entire day, where one of the most joyous couples tied the knot, surrounded by their sweetest family and friends.

From the moment the guests began to arrive, it was clear this wouldn’t be an ordinary wedding. The bride and groom, known for their lively and fun-loving personalities, ensured that the atmosphere was filled with laughter, warmth, and a PARTY. They greeted their guests with a beer cooler, instantly making everyone feel welcomed!

The Ceremony: Simple, Intimate, and Full of Heart

The couple chose to keep the ceremony intimate and personal while sharing their vows during their first look. The backdrop? A gorgeous hand-made wooden arch on a pond.

Tears and smiles were shared as the couple showed their unique connection. It was impossible not to feel the emotion in the air, as their love radiated across the space, touching everyone present.

The Reception: Fun, Laughter, and Endless Dancing

After the ceremony, the mood quickly turned celebratory. The backyard was transformed into a vibrant space filled with round tables, adorned with greenery and burnt orange florals. The food was served buffet-style, which everyone enjoyed!

As the evening settled in, the fun really began. The wedding party came in hot with their introductions and flippy cup. Yep, never seen that one before! They planned plenty of activities, while hiring a guitarist and the best DJ I have ever heard. The energy was electric! The dance floor stayed full well into the night. It was a wedding where even the most reluctant dancers couldn’t help but join in the fun.

Family and Friends: The Heart of the Celebration

What made this wedding extra special was the close-knit group of family and friends who surrounded the couple. Every guest seemed to play an important role in the day, from helping with set-up to surprising the couple with impromptu speeches. The love and support for the newlyweds was untouchable. It was more than just a celebration of two people in love—it was a celebration of everyone who had been a part of their journey.

A Perfect Ending

As the night came to a close, this mid-September backyard wedding was the perfect blend of love, fun, and authenticity. The bride and groom’s joyful personalities, the sweet support of their loved ones, and the intimate setting made it a day that will be remembered by everyone who was lucky enough to be there. It was more than just a wedding—it was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship.
