Manteno IL Family Photos | Why Annual Family Photos Matter | The Prokops
There are some sessions that just feel easy in the best way — and my fall session with the Prokop family is always one of them. Between the crisp air, warm tones, and golden morning sunlight, it creates the perfect backdrop for capturing genuine connection and memories that families can look back on for years to come. The Prokop family’s session in Manteno IL was filled with playful moments, sweet interactions, and the kind of joy that makes family photography so meaningful.
One of my favorite parts about family sessions is preserving this exact season of life — the little laughs, the cuddles, and the personalities that change so quickly over time. These moments may feel ordinary now, but they often become the memories families treasure most later on.
This is something we do every year, and it’s become such a sweet tradition. We photograph their session at their beautiful home, which makes everything feel relaxed and personal right from the start. The kids can be themselves. Everyone is comfortable. It feels like them.
Before the session, we met to coordinate outfits, which I genuinely love doing. Thoughtful wardrobe choices always elevate the final images, and when everything comes together, it just works. Classic, cohesive, and still completely natural.
The Prokops are such a fun family. There’s always laughter, movement, and those in-between moments that end up being everyone’s favorites. Because we do this every year, there’s a rhythm to it now. We know what works. We have fun with it. And each year, I get to see how much the kids have grown while still capturing the heart of who they are right now.
One of my favorite parts is their Christmas card! Every year they send one featuring images from our session, and I love knowing these photos aren’t just sitting on a phone — they’re printed, shared, and part of their holiday tradition.
Documenting families year after year is such an honor. These sessions may feel simple and fun in the moment, but they turn into something so much more over time.
Already counting down to next fall!!
